PSAT Scores Returned
PSAT results from the October testing were returned in advisory group on 12/15.  Students who did not pick up their results should check in the guidance office.  Access codes to the CollegeQuickStart Program on the Collegeboard website are in the upper right hand corner of the results sheet.  See the PowerPoint Presentation in the downloadable files for a quick overview of ways to improve your testing, college choices, career selections or interests.
2010 Governor's Schools
Bright and talented 10th and 11th graders who would like to enhance their credentials for college need to check out the 2010 Governor's Schools.  There are 12 areas and they meet at various college campuses across the state.  These opportunities are free to qualified students.  Go to www.tn.gov/education/govschools for further information, applications, and deadlines.
PLAN Test
All 10th graders will be taking the PLAN test on Oct. 6th.  As a "pre-ACT" test, the PLAN is a powerful predictor of success on the ACT.  The PLAN is a 4-part timed test which gives students an estimated ACT score range.  It has English, Math, Reading, and Science sections, much like the ACT.  There is no charge to the students for the test.  Students may find sample PLAN questions on the ACT website, www.actstudent.org/plan/tests/index.html  Students will be assigned to a testing location prior to the test date.
